The Blue Hill Harbor offers a safe, saltwater paddling experience. This working harbor is dotted with several small islands where you are very likely to find harbor seals sunning themselves or local community members enjoying an afternoon swim. One island in particular, known as Sand Island, is accessible at any tide and offers an excellent landing for your kayak as well as a place to enjoy a picnic lunch, a swim, or an afternoon nap! Access to this location is tide dependent and as such the paddling opportunity is 4 hours either side of high tide.
The Activity Shop staff will meet you at the launch location which is located directly behind the fire station on water St. in Blue Hill. There are cafes within walking distance of the launch point. If you would like to order lunch to go, please call the order in ahead of time so that you can still be at the launch point at the agreed upon time.
As with all outdoor activities, please be prepared by making sure to bring appropriate synthetic clothing, a hat, drinking water, a snack, cell phone.
Walkers Pond is a lovely freshwater lake located between the towns of Sedgwick and Brooksville, ME. This location offers parking, designated swim areas and boating areas as well as warm water for swimming during your day at the lake.
This adventure package is especially wonderful for families with children ranging in age. Paddling equipment can be shared within the family so everyone gets a turn on the water and laying on the sand.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant, El El Frijoles is just up the road from the access point, call ahead and enjoy amazing food while you relax at the lake.
